The Knights Announce Their Official Smite Pro League Roster

(PITTSBURGH) January 10th, 2019 – Hear ye, hear ye! People of the Knights kingdom! The time has come for the Pittsburgh Knights to declare their Smite Pro League Roster. The city of Pittsburgh will be represented in the Smite Pro League by Adrian “Deathwalker” Benko as Solo, Kennet “Adapting” Ros as Jungle, Joakim “Zyrhoes” Vergren as Mid, Emil “EmilZy” Nelsen as Support, Liam “Vote” Shanks as Hunter, and their coach, Daniel “Rowe” Rowe. All players have proven themselves in the professional arena, with each member of our roster having participated in multiple Smite Summer Splits, finals, or World Championships.
Adrian “Deathwalker” Benko placed first in both the 2018 SPL Masters Spring Finals LAN and the 2017 SPL Super Regionals LAN. Having played for teams such as CycloneGG and Team Rival, Deathwalker is an experienced two-time runner up in the SMITE World Championships. His new teammates are no strangers, “I’ve always wanted to play with and against the likes of Zyrhoes, Emilzy and Adapting because they are players that I thought for a long time are some of the best in the world,” he admits, “and since I’ve been playing against them for so long, I thought it would be interesting to see how they turn out to be as teammates, and how our playstyles end up working together.”
Kennet “Adapting” Ros is a two-time Smite world champion, and former member of Epsilon and NRG. He placed first in the 2018 SPL Summer Split Finals LAN, and had a 88.2% win rate (60/68) for the 2016 SPL Full Season. For Adapting, Smite is his game of choice because of its “ unique feeling from it’s third person view, paired with the fact that it’s a fairly fast paced for a MOBA.” He enjoys the balance of the game style, explaining “It’s a very farm centric game yet the farming doesn’t feel like it’s tedious, it’s quick, easy and the combat is very fun due to all the skill shots.”
Joakim “Zyrhoes” Vergren has seen the professional arena through the likes of Dignitas, SK Gaming, and Fnatic before he wore the Knights gold and black. He was in the 1st seed for both the 2017 SPL Online Summer Split and the 2018 SPL Online Fall Split. Zyrhoes also placed first in the 2017 SPL Summer Split Finals LAN. Ever since Smite was recommended to him by his friends, Zyrhoes has been hooked, “When I was about 9 years old and started gaming on PC, I played a lot of FPS – Quake 2 & 3 mainly, but after DOTA was released I pretty much completely switched over to MOBAs.” He admits that’s why he was initially drawn to Smite, because “it’s a MOBA with FPS elements.”

Emil “EmilZy” Nelsen came in first in the 2017 SPL Masters Spring Finals LAN and the 2018 SPL Summer Split Finals LAN. EmilZy also had the KDA for the 2017 SPL Online Season. With over four years of competitive play, EmilZy has spent time with organizations such as Obey Alliance and NRG. EmliZy looks forward to not just playing under the Knights banner, but representing the organization and what we stand for, “While Knights are still a new organization, this org just breathes hard work and dedication,” he explains, “everyone works hard and everyone is aligned for the same goal – winning everything. Whether that’s the the players, coach, social media managers, or one of our bosses, everyone has the same belief – we need to be the best, all the time.”
Liam “Vote” Shanks is no stranger to the Smite Pro scene, having spent over three years with CycloneGG and Team Rival. He placed 1st in both the 2017 SPL Super Regionals LAN and the 2018 SPL Masters Spring Finals LAN. He is also a two-time runner up in the Smite World Championship. Now that Vote is with the Knights, he’s ready to take home the win – “I can’t wait to finally win worlds after coming in 2nd for 2 years in a row,” he admits. For Vote, “winning everything is what drives me as a competitor. I’ve had my fair share of 2nd places, and after a while it gets to you.”
Daniel “Rowe” Rowe is not new to the coaching scene, having advised the likes of Avant Gaming, Dire Wolves, and NRG. Besides coaching, Rowe holds some competitive accolades, having taken first place at the 2018 SPL Summer Split Finals LAN. Rowe was also crowned the Most Winning Player in the Smite Oceana Pro League, and was a guest analyst for the 2017 Smite World Championship. Now that Rowe has competed across the world, he wants to get to know the local scene better, “I want to embed myself into the Pittsburgh championship culture, attend local events, and help to build up the esports community throughout the city.”
See our roster in action for the first time on February 7th in a pre-season match as part of the Smite Pro League Season 6 Pre-Season. Smite was launched in 2014 by Titan Forge Games and Hi-Rez Studios. Currently available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, Smite boasts 168 million matches played as of last year.
